Employment Law Post-Brexit Changes?

With over 2,400 pieces of EU law on the government's retained EU law dashboard, the Government has now introduced The Retained EU Law (Revocation and Reform) Bill 2022-2023.

Are you ready?

Post-Brexit Employment Law Changes
UK Employment Law

The bill was introduced to the House of Commons on 22 September 2022 and, as a result, we are like to see a raft of change to UK employment law over the next 15 months.

As of yet, it is unknown what the changes will look like, but many believe they are likely to include:

  • The Working Time Regulations;

  • Regulations in relation to agency workers, part-time workers and fixed-term employees;

  • Information and Consultation of Employees Regulations;

  • Health and safety regulations; and

  • TUPE.

Is employment law change welcome?

The Government has stated that they "will ensure that only regulation that is fit for purpose, and suited for the UK will remain on the statute book".

This may result in many overly complex and costly procedures being simplified, but will this be better for employers and employees alike?
